Our Vision
We believe that everyone should be able to access high quality mental health and wellness supports and services that are inclusive of equine, nature, and land-based learning.
Who We Are
Nurtured By Nature Mental Health and Wellness Society is a non-profit charitable organization founded by a diverse group of people who share experience with and passion for traditional, holistic, and complementary healing approaches. These approaches are inclusive of nature-based, animal-assisted, evidence-based wellness practices. We are committed to serving our community.

Our Mission
We will provide the access to and subsidies for evidence-informed, animal-assisted and nature based mental health and wellness supports and services to individuals with mental health challenges and their families, caregivers, and staff. These will include counselling, psychoeducation and professional development to support positive mental health and wellness, to foster healthy relationships and connections, and to build greater resilience and a sense of hope for individuals and communities.

The Nurtured By Nature Mental Health and Wellness Society would like to respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work and pay respect to the Indigenous Peoples and their Elders, past, present and future. We acknowledge their strength and resilience and are honoured to journey with them on the path to healing and reconciliation.
We acknowledge the traditional territories and oral practices of the Blackfoot Nations of Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai; the Stoney Nakoda First Nations of Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney; and the Tsuut’ina First Nation. We also honour the Otipemisiwak Métis Government of the Métis Nation within Alberta District 6 and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. We acknowledge the traditional lands of Turtle Island, where we gather with deep respect for the land and with a shared commitment to supporting and enriching members of our community.
